Subject Workshop: Quantum Physics and Computing
MDPI UK invites you to an exclusive Subject Workshop exploring the fast-evolving interaction between Quantum Physics and Computing, chaired by Prof. Dr. Andreas Fring.
The rapid development of quantum technologies is bringing quantum physics and computation into increasingly close contact. Ideas originating in fundamental quantum theory are now being realised in new computational architectures, while advances in quantum information and computing are providing new tools for simulating, controlling, and understanding complex quantum systems.
This event brings together leading academic researchers, early-career academics, and key industry professionals working across this interface. Topics will range from quantum simulation, quantum algorithms, and quantum information to quantum networks, many-body systems, quantum hardware, and foundational aspects of quantum theory. Our aim is to encourage interdisciplinary contact between different communities and to highlight the areas where developments in physics and computing can inform and stimulate one another.

About Our Chair
Prof. Dr. Andreas Fring is a Professor of Mathematical Physics at City St. George's, University of London. His main field of research is mathematical physics, with a focus on integrable quantum field theories and quantum mechanics. He has authored or co-authored over one hundred and seventy articles published in international journals and conference proceedings across a range of topics in these areas.
Prof. Dr. Fring also sits on the Editorial Board of Universe. Founded in 2015, it is an international peer-reviewed open access journal focused on theoretical, experimental, and observational progress in fundamental and applied physics, spanning from circumterrestrial space to cosmological scenarios.
