In September, two MDPI staff attended the 2025 European Burns Association (EBA) congress.

EBA is the owner of the European Burn Journal. The annual congress is aimed at all members of the multidisciplinary burn team and other burn healthcare professionals as well as those in training for one of these specialisms from Europe and beyond.

During the congress, two MDPI UK colleagues delivered an Academic Publishing Workshop. During the workshop, they delivered an introduction to the European Burn Journal (EBJ), highlighted some of the top papers of 2024, and shared insights into MDPI's thorough editorial and peer review processes.

They also delivered training on the following topics:

• Open Access Publishing

• MDPI's Editorial Workflow

• Peer Review Process

In addition, EBJ's Editors-in-Chief, Prof. Naiem Moiemen and Prof. Peter Vogt spotlighted the journal. They showcased its milestones and some of the top papers from 2024, before engaging in a lively roundtable discussion on hot topics in the field.
